Club Penguin and their many video game heroes, have become a huge success on the kids scene since they were first seen in 2005.
Now, children in Australia finally have the opportunity to take their favourite Club Penguin character out of the video game screen and into their own hands with the latest release of Club Penguin children’s toys.
Included in the range are some of the most popular characters, including famous inventor, scientist and secret agent Gary the Gadget Guy, reporter for the newspaper Aunt Arctic, pirate penguin Rockhopper, construction worker Rory and many more.
Robb Beeston, Head of Disney Online Studios in Asia Pacific, was exited by the push to Australia and said it was testament to the popularity of the fans down under.
“Club Penguin is all about the kids, and the launch of the new product line means that Aussie penguins can now take the fun and creativity of the online world into the real world. The entire range is inspired by Club Penguin’s sense of community, socializing and celebrating,” Mr. Beeston said.
“We’re really excited to bring the new plush toys to Australia, and it’s great we can celebrate our one-year milestone of having a localised operation in Australia by delivering more of what our fans want.”
The toys, as well as being cuddly, soft and cute, are quite affordable, selling for around $5 – $10 for a standard sized character.
Club Penguin toys are available nationwide at Toys “R” Us and will be sold in K-Mart stores around mid September, 2009.
